a quartet of newer psalms
King David, traditionally regarded as the author of the Psalms, strums a harp in this illuminated medieval German psalter.

There are 150 Psalms in the Bible– they cover all manner of moods and theologies, experiences and topics. They were sung by the Levites as they ascended the steps of the Temple, they've been sung and recited by so many of us in different times and places for so many reasons.

We'll look more closely at the classical ones another day– assuming you'd like to unpack them more closely? Let me know?

But I've been moved by these newer ones, too, and thought I'd share. It feels to me like they're in conversation. Do you see that as well?

Do they provide access points for you? Does one speak more clearly to you than the others? If so, why, do you think? What is it saying to you?
