Jewish Text 201

Some good stuff for those already playing ball
Jewish Text 201
The Munich Manuscript is the only existing handwritten copy of the entire Babylonian Talmud without Christian censorship. It was copied by Solomon ben Samson into one 577-page volume, completed in 1342, probably in France. (Image of the Munich Manuscript, with some evergreen trees at the bottom.)

Maybe you've already been around the Jewish block for a minute. You know what midrash is, you have a little bit of context already. (Or maybe you're still catching up but still want to jump right into the deep end! Who am I to tell you what to go for and in what order?)

Of course, everything here is for the intelligent lay reader. But these pieces in particular– a wild mix of history, philosophy, midrash, gemara (Talmud), serious Purim Torah and more– might be of particular interest if you're already over here.

Who else do you know who loves this stuff? Make their day.
